A day at the lake! You don’t have to own a waterfront property to enjoy the lake that belongs to ALL of us. Lake Norman State Park is a stone’s throw up the highway in Troutman, a town that has the right idea about sharing the great outdoors. You can enjoy hiking, biking, swimming, fishing, picnicking, camping, birdwatching and boating. Make a day of it! Got a boat? There’s a public ramp available. And hey, no worries if you don’t. You can rent a canoe, kayak, paddleboard or foot-peddle boat, which are all perfect for living your best MVL!

• 24-hour access to the campground and boat launch is available through the entrance on St. Johns Road.
