Give Me Some Sugar!

MVL explains Southern phrases

Give Me Some Sugar Affectionate phrase. Also, “gimme some sugar!” It means, “give me a kiss” (or, a big ole’ hug on the neck). Memas love to say this while throwing their arms in the air as the grandkids arrive for a visit.

In the South, you can always count on the word sugar being a synonym for love!
