Fixin’ To.

MVL fixin' to explain southern phrases

Fixin’ To: verb (sort of): It means, planning to do it in the near future. “I’m Fixin’ to go to the Food Lion and pick up supper. Y’all need anything?”

When someone says they’re fixin’ to, you can be sure they’ve thunk it through and will really get ‘er done. “I’m fixing to get me a tarp to cover this woodpile before winter.”
